Abstract

THE ROLE OF ASSERTIVENESS TOWARD MARITAL ADJUSTMENT OF WOMAN AT THE BEGINNING OF MARRIAGE ON PALEMBANG CITY Mutiah Anisah1, Sayang Ajeng Mardhiyah2 ABSTRACT The aim of this study is determining wheter there is a role of assertiveness toward martital adjustment woman in the first stage of marriage on palembang city. Participants in the study were 250 women who had been married for a minimum of 4 months and a maximum of 5 years. 200 subjects as participants in the study and 50 subjects as trial participants. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling with the sampling technique using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is the assertiveness scale which refers to the aspects of Alberti and Emmons. The results showed that there was a role of assertiveness and marital adjustment with a value of R square = 0.497 and P = 0.000 (p <0.05). Assertivity has a role in marital adjustment to women at the beginning of marriage. Therefore, the hypothesis in this study is accepted.
