Abstract

This study discussed the relationship between peer group roles and political behavior of civic education students of Sriwijaya University. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between peer group roles and political behavior of civic education of Sriwijaya University. The hypothesis of this study was there is a significant relationship between peer group roles and political behavior of civic education of Sriwijaya University. The sample in this study were 135 students by using Sample Random Sampling technique at error level 0f 5%. Data collection technique used documentation and quetionnaires. Data analysis technique used Product Moment Correlation. Based on the result of data analysis obtained r-count is .733 (greater than r-table) at significance level of 5%, it meant that there was a positive and significant relationship between peer group roles and political behavior. The positive relationship is a unidirectional relationship, meaning that when peer group roles are carried out well, the students’ political behavior that appears is also good.
