Abstract

This study aimed was to determine the cellulose degradation pettern from the marsh grass to a, b and c fraction by the method in sacco. This research was carried out for 4 months from February to June 2020 in the Animal Husbandry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University and Animal Nutrition and Forage Laboratory of Animal Husbandry Departement, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The livestock used in this study was a fistula buffalo aged ± 2 years. The forages used in this study were Kumpai Minyak (Hymenechane amplexicaulis), Kumpai Tembaga (Hymenachne acutigluma) Kumpai Padi (Oryza rupifogon) which were incubated an fistulatedPampangan swamp buffalo. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters observed were cellulose degradation and cellulose degradation patterns. Data analysis using analysis of Variant (ANOVA) and if treatment shows influence data will be continued analysis with Duncan Multi Range Test. The results of this study showed that there were significantly difference (P <0.05) on a, b, and c fractions of cellulosedegradation pattern. The highestvalues was a fraction on kumpai tembaga grass(31.32%), b fraction on kumpai padi grass (53.10%) and c fraction on kumapai minyak grass (0.11%). The degradation rate of 48 hours showed that kumpai padi grass had the highest value (65,17%). This study concluded that the rate of cellulose degradation of swamp grass variedly among each other.
