Abstract

Profesionalisme merupakan syarat utama bagi orang yang bekeija sebagai auditor eksternal. Para pemakai laporan keuangan memiliki kepercayaan yang besar terhadap hasil pekeijaan akuntan publik dalam mengaudit laporan keuangan. Kepercayaan ini bertujuan untuk auditor dapat mencapai mutu dan kualitas hasil audit yang baik tentunya hal yang dipertimbangkan salah satunya adalah penentu tingkat materialitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tahap-tahap profesionalisme auditor dalam menentukan pertimbangan tingkat materialitas laporan keuangan. Data diperoleh dengan melakukan penelitian lapangan secara langsung kepada para akuntan publik yang bekeija pada salah satu kantor akuntan publik di Palembang. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif dimana data yang terkumpul diuraikan berdasarkan fakta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa profesionalisme auditor pada kantor akuntan publik telah sesuai dengan Standar Profesionalisme Akuntan Publik (SPAP) dan auditor profesionalisme pada kantor akuntan publik dalam menentukan tingkat materialitas telah berpedoman pada Standar Perikantan Audit (SPA) 320 yang diterbitkan Dewan Standar Profesi Institut Akuntan Publik Indonesia.
