Abstract

The manufacture of Strontium Hexaferrite (SrFe12019) has been prepared by the powder metallurgy method. Strontium carbonate (SrCO3) powder and Hematite powder (Fe2O3) powder as raw materials and Magnesium Oxide (MgO) powder as dopant varried with 0%; 0,5%; 1%; 1,5% dan 2% wt. The raw materials powder was milled to obtain a homogeneous mixture using ball mills for 6 hours. Based on the results of DTA test, the milled powder combusted at 1100oC. Structure of the prepared samples has been characterized by the XRD. The results show dopant can be influenced the formation of phase. The (SrFe12019) phase with magnetoplumbite structure has been formed in the samples with 0% and 0,5% wt of, while and was formed with cubic structure in 1%; 1,5% dan 2% wt . And the magnetic properties of samples has been characterized by VSM, the results show that magnetic properties of 0,5% wt. increases with Ms = 52,93 emu/gr; Mr = 29,69 emu/gr; Hc = 3,617 kOe and BHmax= 2,255 MGOe.
