Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effect of disc angle and plowing speed of mini tractor on ultisol soil. This research was conducted on October 2017 at Agricultural Clinic of Sriwijaya University. The research used factorial randomized block design with two treatment factors and three replications. The first factor was disc angle that was 42° and 44°, then the second factor was plowing speed of 4 km/h, 5 km/h, and 6 km/h. The parameters were the plowing width (cm), plowing depth (cm), fuel consumption (L/h), and wheel slip (%). The results showed that the highest value of plowing width on 44° disc angle and 4 km/h was 39.83 cm. The treatment at the width of plowing had different effected with each other. The highest value of plowing depth in 44° disc angle and 4 km/h was 14.28 cm. The highest consumption of fuel on the 44° disc angle and 6 km/h was 9.39 L/h. The highest wheel slip was 4.92% at 44° disc angle and 6 km/h. The disc angle treatment and speed had no effect on fuel consumption and wheel slip.
