Abstract

Transformer is one component in the electric power system. The transformer serves to regulate the voltage from electrical energy, with the aim that the power losses that occur can be minimized, so that the electrical energy received by consumers can be optimal. However, the use of transformers in the power system has not been able to ensure great reliability in the system, there are many problems that can occur especially on the transformers. Such disturbances as over voltage, overvoltage due to lightning strikes and load release by switching operation. When the load is released, the voltage on the transformer will suddenly increase, either on the primary side or on the secondary side depending on where the load is released. The increase in voltage also correlates with the amount of load released. If the voltage exceeds the insulation resistance limit of the transformer, the transformer will experience internal problems that can make the transformer not reliable and can cause damage to the transformer. In this study, the simulation is the release of 3 phase load and release of 1 phase load, where the observed variable is the increase in voltage with changes in load variation. From the results of this study, the highest voltage increase that occurred on the transformer secondary side was 51,453 kV with a percentage increase in voltage of 81,91% during the release of phase load 76,05 MVA and the highest increase in voltage at the primary transformer is 221,620 kV with a percentage a voltage increase of 4,47% when releasing 3 phase loads and the release of A phase load worth 76,05 MVA. Dimana tegangan lebih pada sisi sekunder transformator tersebut melewati batas tahanan tegangan isolasi sebesar 1,453 kV dan pada sisi primer transformator tegangan lebih tersebut masih dalam jangkauan tahanan tegangan isolasi.
