Abstract

Discussion on social responsibility develops rapidly. Implementation of CSR is obliged to maintain long term business of an enterprise. Research on this result in different views. This result is aimed at identifying the influence of corporate social responsibility towards firm value with firm profitability as a moderating variable. Object of this research is the mining companies which registered in lndonesian Stock Exchange and has a annual report at 2010 — 2012. Corporate Social Responsibility is measured by Corporate Social Responsibility lndex which is yielded from the valuing result towards annual report with content analysis and indexing yes/no approach, firm profitability value is measured by ROA ratio, and the firm value is measured by Tobin’s Q. Fourteen (14) samples are selected through purposive sampling. The data are analyzed statistically and descriptively. The research result show that Corporate Social Responsibility has not significant influence towards the firm value and firm profitability in this research as the moderating variable in relation between Corporate Social Responsibility and firm value was not significant. This research is limited the sample of 14 companies, and the three year period.
