Abstract

The purpose of this study was to modify the surface of roll pecan shell breaker (Aleurites moluccana (L). Wild.) double roll type to increase the percentage of whole rupture core. This research has been conducted from October 2020 to January 2021 in workshop laboratory and agricultural machine tools Agricultural Engineering Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. This research was carried out with several stages including the design stage, the Tool making stage, the tool testing stage. Which is inserted into descriptive method then the data is presented in the form of tabulation. The loading parameters are the percentage of whole seeds, the percentage of halve seeds, the percentage of crushed seeds, and the percentage of ore escaped. The results of this study showed that a good percentage of whole seeds occurred at a speed of 250 rpm which is an average of three times the repetition of 28.26 %. from this study it can be concluded that the higher the speed of the machine, the lower the percentage of whole pecan seeds.
