Abstract

This study was aimed aims to determine the effect of iron (Fe) on growth and nutritional quality as well as organoleptic test on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). using floating raft hydroponic system. This research was implemented from October to November 2020. The design used was complete randomized design with 2 treatments and 4 replicates. Each unit of the repetitions tub consisted of 36 plants so that there were 288 plants. The treatments used were P0 treatment and P1 treatment (10 ppm Fe). The obtained data was analyzed using T-Test. The result showed that the 10 ppm treatment could reduce the yield of plant growth on the variables of plant height, number of leaves, plant’s fresh weight, plant’s dry weight, shoot-root ratio and water content. 10 ppm treatment could increase the results of nutritional quality, such as vitamin C, ash content, Fe content, and crude food fiber. The 10 ppm treatment on the organoleptic test could increase the public interest on lettuce.
