Abstract

PT Bukit Asam Tbk. is a mining company engaged in coal exploitation activities and is administratively located in the Lawang Kidul District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. The mining method used is surface mining (Open Mine) with a conventional system using a combination of digging and loading excavators and dump trucks. In carrying out exploitation activities using the open pit method, it requires a place to accommodate overburden, namely disposal. Cover soil material that is stockpiled can cause various problems, especially those related to the bearing capacity of the soil to withstand the loads above it. One of the common and frequently encountered potential hazards in open pit mines is the hazard of slope sliding either on a local scale (single bench or double bench) or in a larger size and even on an overall scale. This research is intended to analyze the actual and modified slope geometry and geotechnical variables so as to determine the safety factor value> 1.5 for a single slope or overall slope. From this research, it is expected to calculate the capacity and capacity of the current disposal and the capacity for disposal of modification. In the recommendations, the difficulties faced are determining the safe and stable geometry of the slope and increasing the optimal disposal capacity. The data processing method used in this research is a method of combining primary data and secondary data. Data processing used the 2020 RKAP design with 4 cross sections which were analyzed using Geostudio Slope / W 2012 software and to obtain the value of the safety factor using the Bishop method and cross section modeling using the ventyx minescape 5.7 application. From the analysis using Geostudio Slope / W 2012 software and with the geometry of the disposal slope includes a single slope angle of 18o, a bench height of 6 m and a width of 30 m. The results of the analysis of the slope safety factor, obtained that section 1-1 'has a FK value of 1.746, section 2-2 "has a FK value of 1.833, section 3-3" has a FK value of 1.681 and section 4-4 "has a FK value of 1.782. Therefore, the geometry of the slope can be optimized by modifying the geometry, namely by reducing the width of the berm so that the disposal capacity can be increased and the value of the safety factor is reduced but it remains> 1.5. Based on the analysis of the safety factor of the modified slope with a single slope angle of 18o, a bench height of 6 m and a berm width of 24 m, it was found that section 1-1' had an FK value of 1.540, section 2-2' had a FK value of 1.716, section 3- 3' has an FK score of 1.546, section 4-4' has a FK score of 1.552. After modification of the slope geometry, disposal capacity can be increased by 4,045,161 m3 of overburden.
