Abstract

This study examines "Musi Riverbanks Community Behavior in Utilizing MCK (Bathing Washing Toilet) 29 Ilir Village, Ilir Barat II District, Palembang City". The purpose of this study was to determine the underlying factors and to find out the behavior of Musi Riverbanks community in the Utilization of 29 Ilir Village's MCK (Bathing Washing Toilet). The method used is descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, while the number of informants in the study is 6 people chosen purposively. Data collection techniques carried out by observation, interview and documentation. This research uses Behavior Theory from Soerlita Sarwono (2012). The results of this study found that 1) The underlying factors were the lack of provision of cash facilities, the lack of public knowledge, the lack of government supervision, and no modeling; 2) Community behavior is based on several motives, such as cognitive needs (cognitive needs), affective needs (affective needs), personal integrative needs (integrative personal needs), social integrative needs (integrative social needs), and escapist needs (release needs).
