Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisa sifat mekanik pada komposit dengan komposisi 86% alumunium 1020, 12% fly ash dan 2% magnesium, tiga material komposit tersebut digabungkan didalam furnace dengan metode Direct Melt Oxidation, setelah proses peleburan dengan pencapaian temperatur 900oC dan holding time berfariasi yakni 4 jam, 5 jam dan 6 jam. Selanjutnya, pengujian kekerasan Brinell, pada K4 nilai rata-rata BHN 49,00816 kgf/mm, K5 nilai rata-rata BHN 51,80066 kgf/mm dan K6 nilai rata-rata BHN 56,64983 kgf/mm. Pada pengamatan Scaning Electron Microscope K6 spesimen yang memiliki pori paling baik, perubahan setruktur mikro pada komposit tersebut semakin terlihat jelas pada pengamatan pembesaran 5000x.
