Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation of social support to Health Belief Model in people with diabetes mellitus at traditional herbal medicine. Thus, the following hypothesis were formulated there is correlation of social support to Health Belief Model in people with diabetes mellitus at traditional herbal medicine. The subject of this research were people with diabetes mellitus at traditional herbal medicine Lubuk Alung, West Sumatra. The instrument that used in this study is try out test which consists of 70 respondents and for study sampling consists of 70 respondents, and this study using incidental sampling technique. Data collection methods used in this study is the scale of Health Belief Model and scale social support. The result were analyzed using simple regression. The result of simple regression show that social support have the correlation to Health Belief Model, with p = 0,000, R = 0.453. Effective contribution variable social support to Health Belief Model amount 20.5%.
