Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: 1) Analyze the effect of inputs on pepper production in Muara Rungga Village, Empat Lawang Regency, 2) Measure the efficiency of the use of inputs in pepper farming in Muara Rungga Village, Empat Lawang Regency, 3) Analyze the effect of production on income of pepper farmers in Muara Rungga Village, Empat Lawang Regency. This research was conducted in Muara Rungga Village, Pasemah Air Keruh District, Empat Lawang Regency. Data collection was carried out from September to October 2020. The research method used was a survey method. This survey method was carried out by examining a number of sample farmers who cultivated pepper plants either by intercropping or monoculture. The results of the study indicated that the production factors that had a significant effect on pepper production were land area and labor while the production inputs such as NPK fertilizer, and pesticides did not significantly affect pepper production in Muara Rungga Village, Pasemah Air Keruh District, Empat Lawang Regency in 2020 . The use of production factors such as land area, urea fertilizer, pesticides, and labor was not efficient because the use of these inputs was not as recommended, while the use of NPK fertilizer was inefficient due to excessive use. Pepper production has a significant positive effect on pepper farming income in Muara Rungga Village. The average income obtained by farmers from pepper farming was IDR 13.144.242,27 / cultivated area / year equivalent to IDR 12.008.551,72 / ha / year.
