Abstract

Diuretics are substances that can directly affect the kidneys to produce more than normal urine. Benalu rambutan (Dendrophthoe pentandra L. Miq.) Contains flavonoids which have the potential to be a diuretic. Potential fraction containing flavonoids from parasite leaf flavonoids (Dendrophthoe pentandra L. Miq.) As a diuretic was conducted to determine the diuretic activity of the fraction containing parasite leaf flavonoids. Determination of total flavonoid levels of the ethanol extract of rambutan parasite leaves (Dendrophthoe pentandra L. Miq.) Was determined based on the absorbance value measured at a visible light wavelength of 435.0 nm using a quercetin comparison. Diuretic activity test was carried out on 6 groups of mice, consisting of normal, negative, positive groups and three treatment groups with doses of 25, 50 and 100 mg / 200gBB. Observations were carried out for 24 hours with parameters of urine volume and levels of sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+) ions. The results showed that the total flavonoid content of the ethanol extract of the leaves of the parasite rambutan (Dendrophthoe pentandra L. Miq.) Was 39.03 μg / mL. The highest urine volume with a dose of 100 mg / 200gBB was 14.9 mL and the highest levels of sodium and potassium ions were respectively at a dose of 100 mg / 200gBB of 191.8 ppm and 334.9 ppm. The ED50 value of the fraction was 14.7 mg / 200gBB. The diuretic test results showed that there was an increase in urine volume and levels of sodium and potassium ions in the urine.
