Abstract

PT.Tempirai Energy Resources (TER) is a company engaged in the mining sector. Coal extraction at PT Tempirai Energy Resources is carried out using the open pit method. This research was conducted because of the large pool of stagnant water around the pit. This problem can hamper mining activities, causing production to not be achieved. This research was conducted on February 10, 2020 to June 10, 2020. This research was carried out starting from literature studies, field observations, data collection, and data processing in the form of runoff water flow into the mine, pump head and discharge, and open channel planning. The drainage system planned in this study is to plan the optimal sump dimensions so that it can accommodate the total discharge of water entering the mine in 1 day, and the sump dimensions are obtained with the upper dimensions of 70 m and the lower dimensions of 50 m so that the sump volume is 37,000 m3 / days. And cut the catchment area of ​​the pit area with an open channel that can cut the catchment area by 17 hectares and a runoff discharge of 32,347.27 m3 / day. The pump flow system at Pit 203B has met the needs and no additional pump unit is required.
