Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of barrier hops exercise on muscle limb power athlete taekwondo son of GIB club Palembang. The method used is pre-experiment using one group pretest posttest design. The population of this study is all athletes GIB club Palembang which amounted to 45 athletes, the sample used amounted to 30 athletes. The pretest result found the highest jump of 39 cm and the lowest jump 27 cm with average jump 34,40 cm while posttest result of highest jump 48 cm and lowest jump 36 cm with average jump 43,53. This study showed that barrier hops exercise had an effect on leg muscle power as indicated by an increase in pretest-posttest average of 9.13 cm. Data analysis technique used is normality test and hypothesis test by using paired t test. The result of paired t test shows thitung 35.537 ≥ ttable 2.04523 or sig value. (p) 0.000 <from 0.05. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence of barrier hops exercise on vertical jump results, thus alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted there is effect of barrier hops exercise on muscle limb power athlete son taekwondo GIB club Palembang. The findings in this study, after being given the treatment that is training barrier hops for 6 weeks with the frequency of exercise 3 times a week, then at the last meeting conducted posttest vertical jump and after the data obtained was increased from pretest to posttest of 9.13 cm, this can be used as one of the barrier hops exercises to increase leg muscle power.
