Abstract

a variant of the shape and model of discs on the Braking distance on a 150cc vario motorcycle. Thesis, Palembang Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Teacher Training Faculty, Sriwijaya ofUniversity, July 2019 The researcher did this to know the influence of variation of disk disc model form to distance and braking time. The method used in this research is experimental method. The parameters in the test are the distance and the braking time. By using braking test equipment in accordance with the reference of SNI 4404: 2008. The disc disk used is model A (surface area 21665,149 and its inesia mass moment is 0.741 kg. ), model B (its surface area is 12215.546 and its inesia mass is 0.551 kg. ), model C (surface area 12124.12 and its inesia mass moment is 0.548 kg. ), model D (its surface area is 8873,459 and its inesia mass is 0.521 kg. ). The results obtained are Model A has the best braking distance and the shortest braking time. At a speed of 20 km / h with a braking pressure of 30 bar produces a braking distance of 2.764 meters and a braking time of 1.328 seconds. At a speed of 30 km / h with a braking pressure of 30 bar produces a distance of 7.04 meters of braking and 2.072 seconds of braking time. At a speed of 40 km / h with a braking pressure of 30 bar produces a braking distance of 14.05 meters and a braking time of 2.916 seconds.
