Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of students to complete national physics exams at SMA Negeri 2 and SMA Srijaya Negara. This study uses tests as examiners of students' abilities by providing high school physics exam national questions in 2017/2018. By using quantitative descriptive research methods. Then get a student test score in SMA Negeri 2 Palembang which is the average score obtained by students is 61.1 with a good ability category. While the test scores of students at the Srijaya High School in Palembang are 63.8 with good ability categories. For the average percentage of students' ability to solve problems in SMA Negeri 2 Palembang, at the stage of understanding the problem amounted to 60.3% in the category quite well. At the planning stage, 29.1% of the category is not good. At the stage of implementing the plan amounting to 55.3% the category is quite good. At the re-checking stage, 35.7% of the category is not good. While the average percentage of students' ability to solve problems in Srijaya Negara High School is at the stage of understanding the problem of 61.1% in the good category. At the stage of making a plan, 28.7% are in poor category. At the stage of implementing the plan amounting to 55.1% the category is quite good. At the re-checking stage, 31% is included in the poor category. Based on the above data it can be concluded that the two schools are good enough in preparing for the upcoming National Examination.
