Abstract

Keberadaan sampah dapat berdampak pada kesehatan masyarakat karena merupakan sumber penularan penyakit bawaan oleh vektor yang hidup di sampah seperti lalat. Tumpukan sampah yang mengeluarkan bau menyengat mengundang lalat datang. Keberadaan lalat di suatu tempat mempunyai standar baku mutu sehingga jika angka kepadatan lalat tinggi harus segera dilakukan pengendalian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara pengelolaan sampah dengan kepadatan lalat di TPS. Penelitian dilakukan di 15 kecamatan kota Palembang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey analitik dengan desain studi cross sectional dan pengukuran lalat menggunakan fly grill. Sampel responden diambil dengan metode purposive sampling sebanyak 51 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara pemilahan sampah (p-value = 0,011 ; RP = 6,889), pengumpulan (p-value = 0,001 ; RP = 27,000), pewadahan sampah (p-value = 0,022 ; RP = 6,024), dan pengangkutan sampah (p-value <0,001 ; RP = 27,083) dengan kepadatan lalat di TPS. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara variabel pengelolaan sampah dengan variabel kepadatan lalat. Sehingga sebaiknya DLHK mempekerjakan orang dan menyediakan sarana untuk melakukan pengelolaan sampah yang baik serta selalu melakukan pemantauan dan evaluasi terhadap penangan sampah di TPS. Kata kunci : Pengelolaan Sampah, Kepadatan Lalat, TPS, Fly Grill The existence of garbage can have an impact on public health because garbage is a source of transmission vector-borne diseases that live in garbage such as flies. The pile of garbage that gave off a strong odor invited flies to come. The presence of flies in one place has quality standards so that if the fly density number is high, control must be immediately carried out. This study aims to examine the relationship between waste management and the density of flies in the temporary waste dump. The research was conducted in 15 sub-districts of Palembang city. This type of research is an analytical survey research with astudy design cross sectional and the measurement of flies using a fly grill. The sample of respondents was taken by purposive sampling method of 51 people. The results showed a relationship between waste sorting (p-value = 0.011; RP = 6.889), garbage collection (p-value = 0.001; RP = 27,000), waste packaging (p-value = 0.022; RP = 6.024), and transportation waste (p-value <0.001; RP = 27.083) with the density of flies at the temporary waste dump. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the waste management variable and the fly density variable. So it is better if DLHK employs people and provides the means to carry out good waste management and always conducts monitoring and evaluation of waste handlers at the temporay waste dump.
