Abstract

Tin ore deposits in Indonesia are generally in the form of alluvial tin deposits that have tin ore levels ranging from 20%. Meanwhile, to use tin ore is required more than 70% to be extracted tin (Sn) from tin ore (cassiterite). The shaking table is one of the tools that serve to split tin ore from the mineral followers by utilizing the difference in type weight. Many variables affect the recovery result of the shaking table such as deck slope and riffle height. This experiment focused only on the variable height of the riffle and slope of the table or deck which will affect the result of processing using a shaking table. Variables for riffle height are 0.2 cm, 0.4 cm and catcher hole 0.9 cm depth, while variations for table or deck slope are 0.190o , 0.381o , 0.571o , 0.762o and 0.952o . From the experiment can be explained that the greater the slope of the table, the higher the value of the content will be also but the opposite the greater the slope of the table, the lower the value of recovery and the height/thicker the riffle, the smaller the value of the content but the opposite the height/thicker the riffle, the greater the recovery value. From experiments that are eligible to enter the purification stage, namely experiments at a height of 2 mm riffle with a slope of 0.952o , where the value of the content is 72.74% and the recovery value is 45.61%. The experiment is following the level of PT. Timah lead to get into the tin ore smelter. Where the condition is that tin ore is mined, then washed first until it gets a concentrate with a content of 72-74%, it becomes the main requirement to enter the smelting process. Therefore, the experiments can be said to be successful because there are washing results that meet the standards for purifying, where with a combination of variable height riffle 2 mm and table slope of 0.952o.
