Abstract

The nutritional status of children under five is one indicator that describes the level of community welfare. Nutritional problems such as malnutrition remain a major problem in Indonesia. This is evidenced by the high number of malnutrition, namely 17.7% in 2018. Direct factors that cause malnutrition in children under five include exclusive breastfeeding and infectious diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and infectious diseases on the nutritional status of children under five in Indonesia by a systematic review. This study uses the Systematic Review research method. Search through Google Scholar database, Garuda Portal, National Library, and PubMed. The time for publication is limited from 2011 to 2020. The data is then carried out through a screening process and quality assessment then extracted into tables and analysis using descriptive analysis techniques. There are 114 literatures that were systematically reviewed, 74 of which (51.4%) the incidence of malnutrition exceeds the prevalence of malnutrition in 2018 in Indonesia. The proportion of exclusive breastfeeding for children under five year in Indonesia, there are 81 literature known as many as 55 literature (67.9%), indicating that they have met the 2019 strategic plan target. The proportion of incidence of diarrhea infection in children under five year in Indonesia is 36 known literature as many as 31 literature (86.1%) ) shows that it still exceeds the average prevalence of ARI based on the diagnosis of health workers and symptoms in 2018 and the proportion of the incidence of ARI infection in children under five in Indonesia, there are 28 known literature as many as 26 literature (92.8%), indicating that it still exceeds the average prevalence of diarrhea based on the diagnosis of health workers and symptoms in 2018. There are 57 literatures (70.37%) which show that there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the nutritional status of children under five in Indonesia, there are 22 literature (61.1%) which shows that there is a relationship between the diarrhea variable and the nutritional status of children under five in Indonesia and there are 18 literatures (64.3%) which show there is a relationship between the variable ARI to limited the nutritional status of children under five in Indonesia.
