Abstract

Permenkes No.12 of 2017 stipulates that national immunization coverage is at least 90%, but there is a discrepancy with the results of the complete basic immunization achievement in the 2017 IDHS where only 70% of children use immunization services. There are several factors for children using immunization services, one of which is internet access, based on the results of the intervention by the ECDC (2017) showing that more and more families are looking for health information online, namely 79% of mothers use social media every day and 80% of internet users are looking for health information online. . This study aims to determine the effect of social media on the use of complete basic immunization services for children aged 12-23 months in Indonesia. The data used are secondary data from the results of the Indonesian Health Demographic Survey (SDKI 2017) with a cross-sectional design method in a sample of 3,128. respondents. The data analysis used was univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The univariate results showed that 34.2% of children who are incomplete in utilizing basic immunization services. The results of the bivariate analysis found that there was no relationship between the age of the mother, the sex of the child, the area of residence, and the mother's employment status, and it was known that there was a relationship between the use of internet access, maternal education, the number of living children, the order of the child's birth and the quantity of wealth. From the multivariate results, it is known that there is a relationship between internet acces and the use of complete basic immunization services for children aged 12-23 months in Indonesia after being controlled by confounding variables, namely birth order and wealth quantile (PR = 1.256, 95% CI = 1.010– 1.562. Through this study It is hoped that the government will increase immunization information through the internet network and make appropriate regulations to increase the total utilization of basic immunization services for children aged 12-23 months.
