Abstract

The Family Hope Program (PKH) is a conditional social assistance program that has the purpose to reduce the expense and increase income for underprivileged families. The selection of PKH participant candidates at the Social Service Palembang City is one of the efforts to reduce poverty and social disparities. There are several criteria in selection process of PKH participant candidates, such as the residence status, the house size, the type of floor, the type of wall, the type of roof, the number of bedrooms, the source of drinking water, the process to obtain drinking water, the source of lighting, cooking fuel, use of defecation facilities, feces final disposal site, ownership of movable assets, ownership of fixed assets, ownership of livestock and businesses. However, this program is ineffective, because the selection process is carried out subjectively which causes the help is often misdirected. Therefore, a Decision Support System is needed to assist the selection of recipients that able to get assistance from Family Hope Program (PKH) by using the PROMETHEE method. This method can assess multi-criteria problems, provide recommendations for both a few alternatives and many alternatives and able to combine quantitative and qualitative criteria. The results of this study can provide recommendations for PKH beneficiaries from several prospective participants who have been determined based on the ranking from the calculation of the PROMETHEE method.
