Abstract
Dactylogyrus sp. is one of freshwater ectoparasite and during their life resides in the host’s body and will only leave the host when host die. Morever, it becomes a threat to fish health both in natural waters and aquaculture activities. The purpose of this research is to determine the spread of parasite Dactylogyrus sp. in consumption fish captured from the Kelekar River Indralaya as an effort to determine the incidence of fish infestated by the parasite Dactylogyrus sp.. This study will be used as basic information about the parasite manifestation of Dactylogyrus sp. on consumption fish captured in the Kelekar River. In addition, the infection status of Dactylogyrus sp. can be taken into consideration when captured species are going to be cultivated. This research was conducted from June - August 2020. A survey method was used in this study which all consumption fish captured in the Kelekar River were being test samples. Fish samples were taken once a week at 3 points, located at Tanjung Baru, Burai and Sakatiga village. The variables observed were host fish species, mean length and weight of the hosts, number of fish parasitized, parasite organisms, infestated organs, prevalence, intensity and water quality. The data obtained were analyzed using R with the “ package bipartite” and boxplot and presented in the form of figures and tables. The results showed that Dactylogyrus sp. is a parasite that predominantly attacks fish and the tendency of the infested organs was gills with the prevalence value obtained was 46.48% that categorized into general infection (Commonly). Morever, based on intensity value which was 9.2 ind.ekor-1, Dactylogyrus sp. are categorized into moderate infection. In addition, non Dactylogyrus sp. parasites were also found namely Argulus sp. and Cyclops sp. in the fins and mucus organ from Burai Village with a prevalence and intensity value was 1.79% and 1.5 ind.ekor-1 respectively. Both parasites are catagorized into occasional infection (Occasionally) with low infection. Key words: Dactylogyrus sp., ectoparasite inventory, Kelekar River Indralaya.
