Abstract
Fire is one of the disasters that can have a significant impact, even very large, especially if it occurs in an apartment. To ensure that the available fire protection system is always ready for use, it is necessary to conduct an analysis, one of which is by using the building fire safety inspection guidelines (Pd-T-11-2005-C). The purpose of this study was to analyze the reliability of fire safety in the building at the Sriwijaya University Student Apartment Building. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The technique of selecting informants uses a purposive method based on the principles of suitability and adequacy. The number of informants in this study were 12 people consisting of 2 key informants, among others, the management of the male and female apartments, and 10 other informants, including 5 students and 5 studentsi on each floor of the building. Sources of data in this study consisted of primary and secondary data sources by observing, interviewing, and reviewing documents. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the reliability level of the building site completeness was good but the hydrant sub-component of the yard got a bad value, the reliability level of the rescue facilities was good, the reliability level of the passive fire protection system was good, the reliability level of the active fire protection system was in the poor category because the sub-components such as APAR, siamese connection, overflow extinguishing system, smoke control, smoke detection, and smoke exhaust do not meet the good criteria of the assessment. Overall, it was found that the reliability level of building fire safety with a reliability value of 71.3%, which means that the condition of the building is in good enough condition according to the building fire safety inspection guidelines (Pd-T-11-2005-C). Researchers suggest that the Sriwijaya University Student Apartments always carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs of the building's fire safety system to keep its condition better, especially in the active fire protection system which still has many shortcomings.
