Abstract

Political communication strategies are carried out by managing impressions through communicators of Red Generation, conducted to attract the voice of youth generation in the organization in purpose to make them have the same point of view with PDI Perjuangan‟s political ideology and able to choose the same cadre ahead for the President Election in 2019 named Joko Widodo.This research was conducted because the researcher wanted to see how the strategies carried out by the party through nonparty youth organizations to attract youth voices and contributes to votes and win for the President Election in 2019. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods that obtained data through in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation. The researcher interviewed 3 main informants and one nonorganizational supporting informant for the validity of the data from the in-depth interview, which in this case was also supported by some supporting documentation and field observations to obtain accurate data from the researchers' direct monitoring.Based on this research, Red Generation carries out its political communication by approaching the member and completed the dimensions of the management theory itself, which includes actors, character adjustments, and frontal areas as the stages to begin political communication. From all these parameters, it was concluded that the political communication strategy of the youth generation of Red Generation in PDI Perjuangan Palembang City according to its purpose was successfully accepted by the youth generation of Red Generation itself.
