Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) What is the Overview of Natural Rubber Prices?, (2) Is the price of natural rubber at the international level transmitted well to prices at the farmer level before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Banyuasin Regency? And (3) What are the factors that influence the price movement of natural rubber farmers before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in Betung District, Banyuasin Regency. The method used in this research is the survey method. The sample taking of this research was done by using non random sampling method, where the number of samples was 4 samples of Processing and Marketing Unit (PMU) of rubber material’s. The data used are data from January 2019 to December 2020. The results of this research Rubber prices at the farmer level, Crumb Rubber factory, and international markets experienced price fluctuations, transmission of rubber prices before the COVID-19 pandemic by 0.447%. Meanwhile, price transmission during the COVID-19 pandemic was 0.687%, factors that influenced rubber prices before the pandemic were international rubber prices, rupiah exchange rates, and world oil prices. Meanwhile, the factors that influenced rubber prices during the pandemic were international rubber prices and rupiah exchange rates. Keywords: crumb rubber, transmission, price, pandemic COVID-19.
