Abstract

In this modern age, there is a lot of equipment that can be used to facilitate human in doing works, especially in industrial world. In the industrial world, heavy equipment is needed to facilitate works beyond human capabilities. Excavator is a heavy equipment used in big industries such as construction, agriculture, forestry, mining, and other industries that needs heavy equipment ability. Excavator has a trunk consists of two pistons. Excavator also has a bucket that is called dipper. The driver room or operator room is called house that can rotate 360 degrees and is placed above the track shoe. One of the important components of excavator is track frame that supports the excavator. Research on excavator trackframe is focusing on stress, strain, and displacement analysis using Autodesk Inventor. The main purpose is to find of this research is find stress, strain and displacement distribution on excavator trackframe and to determine critical area or safety factor around excavator track rame. The result of this analysis is stress, strain, and displacement of the trackframe after it has been given the excavator maximum weight of 15 tons. For the stress analysis, the result obtained is maximum stress of 114,5 MPa and minimum stress of 34,01 MPa. For the strain analysis, the result obtained is maximum strain of 4,948 x0-4 and the minimum strain of -8,458 x 10-9. The result of displacement analysis of the track frame is 1.638 mm, and the safety factor of the track frame is 2.66.
