Abstract

This research is discusses the export restriction policy of chemicals issued by Japan under the Government of Shinzo Abe which this policy changes the export system of Fluorinated Polyimide, Resist, and Hydrogen Fluoride to be tighter. This policy is controversial because this policy has a detrimental impact on South Korea and Japan at the same time. This research is using qualitative descriptive method obtained through literature study. The result showed that the export restriction policy of Japanese Chemicals to South Korea made the economy as a tool to achieve political goals made on the influence of the aggressive characteristics and idiosyncratic factors of the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
