Abstract

Hospital emergency room is one of the facilities that is often accessed by the public in an emergency situation. The importance of a hospital that has emergency room facilities is in an appropriate location and easily accessible to the public to reduce the risk of death. Currently, there are 23 hospitals that have emergency room facilities, which are spread across 13 of the 18 districts in Palembang City. Optimizing the location of the facility can be solved by formulating the p-median model and by using the reduction heuristic method. By using the heuristic reduction method, 4 optimal emergency room locations were determined according to the district with the largest number of hospitals that had the most emergency room facilities in Palembang City. Based on the formulation of the p-median model and the completion of the heuristic reduction method, it was found that 4 optimal locations were placed for hospitals that had emergency facilities so that they could fulfill all requests in 18 Districts in Palembang City. Namely RSU Bunda, RSU Siloam Sriwijaya, RSU RK Charitas and RSU PUSRI located in Ilir Timur I District, Ilir Barat I District and Kalidoni District. Where the current emergency room location is Bunda Hospital, Siti Khodijah Hospital, Bunda Noni Hospital and Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital are located in Ilir Barat I District. From the results obtained, the recommended location as the optimal location for a hospital that has emergency facilities is based on the p- formulation. the median and the completion of the heuristic reduction method are RSU Bunda, Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital, RK Charitas Hospital and PUSRI Hospital.
