Abstract

The anatase-rutile phase TiO2 anode composite has been made using the solid state reaction method with TiO2 raw material. Composite was made by adding variations in the anatase phase TiO2 and rutile phase TiO2. The TiO2 precursor in the anatase phase were heated at 80oC for 4 hours, while the rutile phase TiO2 precursors were sintered at 800oC for 4 hours. Characterization carried out includes analysis to see differences in electrochemical performance in variations in the addition of materials, including XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) to determine the phase formation and crystallite size in TiO2 anatase and rutile phases, cyclic voltammetry and charge-discharge to determine electrochemical performance. From the results of XRD analysis, TiO2 in the anatase phase was formed without the impurity phase, while TiO2 in the rutile phase still had many anatase phases and the presence of the VTiO3 impurity phase. The electrochemical performance of the anatase-rutile phase TiO2 anode composite shows that the diffusion coefficient is low (~10-12 cm2/s), and the charge-discharge capacity value obtained is practically smaller than theoretically 168 mAh/g.
