Abstract

The study was aimed to observe the effect of depth of submerged substrate and population density during seedling preparation using floating seedbed, and the effect of time transplanting on vegetative growth of Toraja black sticky rice. The research was started in May and terminated in July 2018 at Jakabaring (104º46’44” E; 3º01’35” S), Palembang. The research was carried out in two stages. The first stage was study on effects of submerged susbtrate and population density, arranged in Split Plot Design. The second stage was study on effects of transplanting time on rice vegetative growth, arranged in Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RALF). The results indicated that submerged substrate and population density did not significantly affect seedling growth. Time of transplanting at 14 days after sowing growth compared to those of 21 DAS or 28 DAS
