Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan variasi cairan pendingin terhadap lamanya waktu menahan laju kalor pada suhu maksimal mesin mobil Daihatsu Xenia 1000 cc. variasi cairan pendingin diantranya air mineral,air yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu hujan,air sisa pembuangan Ac, air coolant winmax, air coolant supercool dan air coolant Daihatsu Astra. Semua variasi cairan pendingin diujikan pada mesin mobil Daihatsu Xenia 1000cc pada suhu awal 35 0C dan suhu maksimal 98 0C pada putaran idle 900 rpm. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah air mineral 10.14 menit (titik didih 91 0C & nilai pH 7.39), air sisa pembuangan AC 13.50 menit (titik didih 100 0C & nilai pH 8.45), air hujan 14.31 menit ( titik didih 102 0C & nilai pH 7.79 ), air coolant winmax 12.28 menit (titik didih 93 0C & nilai pH 7.09 ), air coolant supercool 10.24 menit (titik didih 95 0C & nilai pH 10.24 ), air coolant Daihatsu Astra 13.58 menit ( titik didih 105 0C & nilai pH 7.26 ).Penggunaan masing-masing variasi cairan pendingin memiliki hasil yang berbeda dalam menahan laju kalor, hal ini dipengaruhi material cairan, titik didih dan nilai pH, semakin tinggi titik didih maka semakin lama menahan laju perpindahan kalor
