Abstract

The research objective was to determine of the ultisol soil stickiness test on moldboard plow surface coated by zincalume at various working speeds. The method used was factorial randomized block design (RAFK) with two treatment factors consisting of the type of material (A) and the forward speed of the moldboard plow (B). Each treatment was repeated three times. Type of material had two level of treatments with type material were steel and zincalume, and the speed of forward moldboard plow have three level treatments were speed 1 km/h, speed 2 km/h, and speed 3 km/h. Observation parameters were soil stickiness (g), moldboard working depth (cm), moldboard working width (cm), perfectly inverted soil height (cm) and perfectly inverted soil width (cm). The result of this research indicate that the treatment of type of material and the forward speed of the moldboard have a significant effect on the soil stickiness This type of steel material has more soil stickiness than zincalume material. Average of soil stickiness with speed 1 km/h using a steel moldboard plow of 214.6 g and a moldboard plow using a zincalume layer of 71.57 g. Soil stickiness with speed 2 km/h using a steel moldboard plow of 166.90 g and moldboard plow using a zincalume layer of 57.57 g. Soil stickiness with speed 3 km/h using steel moldboard plow of 133.96 g and moldboard plow using zincalume layer of 21.43 g.
