Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis serta untuk melihat seberapa besar pengaruh dari faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penciptaan uang giral oleh bank umum di Indonesia selama periode 1993-2007. Faktor-faktor tersebut adalah cadangan minimum, rekening giro, dan laju pertumbuhan ekonomi. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder, berupa data jumlah uang giral di Indonesia, data perkembangan cadangan minimum, data jumlah dan perkembangan rekening/simpanan giro, dan juga data laju pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia. Data yang digunakan adalah data time series, dari rangkaian waktu dari tahun 1993 sampai dengan tahun 2007. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga faktor tersebut berpengaruh positif terhadap penciptaan uang giral. Artinya apabila salah satu dari ketiga faktor tersebut mengalami peningkatan, maka jumlah uang giral yang tercipta juga mengalami peningkatan.
