Abstract
In this study, barium hexaferrite (BaFe12O19) magnetic ceramic was made and the addition of titanium dioxide (TiO2) additive with variations of 0%: 0.3%: 0.6% and 0.9% using powder metallurgy methods. First, barium hexaferrite and titanium dioxide powder mashed with a rotary ball mill. milling is done with distilled water as a solvent for 3 hours. Then, the samples is dried for 24 hours. Then, the addition of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) liquid adhesive to the sample and printed using a Hydraulic Press with a load of 8 tons and held for 1 minute. Then, the pellet-shaped sample sintered using a vacuum furnace at 1000°C for 1 hours. after that, the density and porosity measurements. phase analysis using XRD, magnetic properties with VSM, microstructure using SEM, and giving magnetic properties with the Impulse Magnetizer K-Series with a voltage of 1000 V and calculated the magnetic field strength using a gaussmeter. The best sample is found at a variation of 0.6%. With the highest density value of 4.95 gr /cm3, and has the lowest porosity value of 2.15%. The same sample has a high magnetic field value of 272.65 gauss. VSM results, magnetic properties with (Mr) of 1.489 kG, (Ms) of 3.235 kG, (Hc) of 1.758 kOe, and Bhmax of 0.867 MGOe. From the XRD results, an impurity phase of (Ti4O7) was found.
