Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze comparison of performance of syariah bank and conventional banking in Indonesia. Result of research indicate that during period of years 2004-2009, performance of shariah banking better than the conventional banking. It can be shown from some rations, such as ratio FDR, NPL and ratio BOPO was increased performance pursuant to Indonesia Bank. This Condition because of syariah banking more major operational at productive activity and use principle of profit-loss sharing in running operational activity, so that in crisis of fmance syariah banking can be survive better than the conventional banking. While for ratio of Capital sufficiency, conventional public bank own ratio which better than syariah bank. Non Performing Financing/Loan between syariah banking and conventional banking do not experience of difference which signifikan caused by conditions of economic. To improve;repair banking performance, writer suggest that banking can increasing performance in channeling of financing/loan at productive activity so that will influence level of efficiency of bank and also the bank advantage.
