Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the structure of the health Service industry markets in Southern Sumatra Province, 2) determine the behavior of the health Services industry in Southern Sumatra Province, 3) determine the performance of the health Services industry in Southern Sumatra Province. The data used are secondary published by the Ministry of Health of Indonesia, health department of Southern Sumatra Province, and health department in Palembang,. Descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive method were used which includes: market structure can be viewed by using the calculation of industry concentration ratio (CR4), behavior can be seen through the settlement of Consulting Services tariff of each hospital, and the performance can be seen through the calculation of labor productivity . The results showed that the health Services industry in Southern Sumatera province was a loose oligopoly market structure with 59.23%. market behavior indicated that the absence of an agreement between the govemment hospitals and private hospitals in pricing. Market performance showed that labor productivity in the health Services industry Southern Sumatera was fairly productive. If calculated based on the medical workforce, it resulted 0.064%, and if added with the paramedic workforce, it resulted 0.024%.
