Abstract

The objectives of the study were (1) To determine the trend of rubber price fluctuations in 2019 to 2020 in Panca Tunggal Village, Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, (2) To analyze the effect of rubber price fluctuations and the amount of rubber production on the income of rubber farmers in Panca Village. Tunggal Sungai Lilin Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin District, and (3) To determine the impact of price fluctuations on the welfare level of rubber farmers in Panca Tunggal Village, Sungai Lilin Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in Panca Tunggal Village, Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The location selection was done purposively. The method used in this research is survey research method. The sampling method used is simple random sampling. The number of samples taken was 30 from 195 rubber farmers. Data collected in the form of primary data and secondary data. The results showed that analysis of rubber price trends from 2019 to 2020 using the 6th order polynomial model with an average R-Square value of 78.5% and experiencing a fluctuating price trend that tends to increase. Fluctuations in rubber prices and the amount of rubber production have a positive effect on the income of rubber farmers. If the price of rubber increases by Rp.1, then the income of rubber farmers will also increase by Rp2.204 assuming the other independent variables are fixed and if the amount of rubber production increases by 1Kg, then the income of rubber farmers will also increase by Rp8.970 assuming the variable other free is fixed value. The welfare level of rubber farmers in Panca Tunggal Village, based on the criteria for fulfilling the components of a decent living in 2020, it is known that 30% of farmers are classified as prosperous and 70% are classified as not prosperous. This proves that fluctuations in rubber prices which tend to increase do not have an impact on the welfare level of rubber farmers in Panca Tunggal Village.
