Abstract

The objective of this research was aimed to evaluate the application of several types of organic fertilizers combined with compound NPK fertilizers on the growth and yield of Mustard plants on Ultisol and to obtain the optimal dose of the combination of fertilizers and compound NPK organic fertilizers with the best Mustard crop yields on Ultisol. The research was carried out at the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir, and the time of the research was started from September 2020 – November 2020. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK), consisting of 2 factors and the results of the observations were analyzed using ANOVA. The first factor is the type of organic fertilizer left by animals, consisting of K0 = Control, K1 = Black Soldier Fly fertilizer (10 tons/ha-1), K2 = Vermicompost (10 tons/ha-1), K3 = organic chicken manure (10 tons/ha-1), K4 = organic cow manure (10 tons/ha-1). The second factor is the NPK dose, consisting of N0 = 0% recommended NPK dose (0 kg/ha-1 ), U1 = 25% recommended NPK dose (62.5 kg/ha-1), N2 = 50% NPK dose Based on the recommendation (125 kg/ha-1), N3 = 75% recommended NPK dose (187.5 kg/ha-1). The results showed that the application of several types of organic fertilizers had a significant effect on all observed variables, namely leaf area (cm2), leaf fresh weight (g), stem fresh weight (g), root fresh weight (g), leaf dry weight (g), stem dry weight (g), root dry weight (g), plant height (cm ), number of leaves (strands), and soil pH. The application of NPK fertilizer doses of 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75% had a significant effect on all treatments, namely leaf area (cm2), leaf fresh weight (g), stem fresh weight (g), root fresh weight (g), leaf weight (g), and root fresh weight (g). stem dry weight (g), root dry weight (g), plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), except for leaf dry weight and soil pH which had no significant effect. The results showed that the application of chicken coop organic fertilizer (K3) combined with 75% NPK fertilizer (N3) gave the best results for all variables, plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf area (cm2), leaf fresh weight (g), stem dry weight (g), root dry weight (g), leaf dry weight (g), stem dry weight (g), root dry weight (g), and soil pH on Mustard plants.
