Abstract

Land spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir.) Is a type of vegetable that is well known to all Indonesians. Land spinach is a short-lived plant that contains sufficient nutrients, namely vitamins A, B, C, protein, calcium, phosphorus, sitosterol and mineral materials, especially iron. Kale plants can generally gow and develop in all types of soil, both having high and low fertility levels, including soil of the ultisol order. Soils of the Ultisol order have high soil acidity, average pH <4.50, high Al saturation, poor macro nutrient content, especially P, K, Ca, and Mg, and low organic matter content. Therefore, fertilization activities are needed in plant cultivation activities such as cultivating water spinach plants. Fertilization needs to be done because the nutrient content in the soil varies and changes due to loss of nutrients through leaching. Besides, fertilization can increase plant productivity and soil quality. The addition of organic fertilizers derived from animal manure can contribute to the availability of N, P, K nutrients and can increase soil CEC. Organic fertilizers that are generally used are in the form of animal waste. Efforts to increase the productivity of kale plants on ultisols will be carried out by providing organic fertilizer derived from animal manure or activity combined with several doses of organic fertilizer. This research was conducted in Sukarami Subdistrict, Sukodadi Village, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province and the time of the research began in August 2020 - April 2021. The research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK), consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the type of animal waste organic fertilizer, consisting of 3 levels, namely P1 = organic fertilizer used for maggot, P2 = organic fertilizer for cow manure, P3 = organic fertilizer used for worms. The second factor is the dose of organic fertilizer, consisting of D0 = control (without applying fertilizer), D1 = 5 tons ha-1 (12.5 g / polybag), D2 = 10 tons ha-1 (25 g / polybag), D3 = 15 tons ha-1 (37.5 g / polybag), D4 = 20 tons ha-1 (50 g / polybag), D5 = 25 tons ha-1 (62.5 g / polybag). The variables observed were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, stem fresh weight, leaf fresh weight, root fresh weight, stem dry weight, stem dry weight, leaf dry weight and soil pH. The results showed that the application of kasgot fertilizer gave the best results for all the observed variables, namely plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf area (cm2), leaf fresh weight (g), stem fresh weight (g), fresh root weight ( g), leaf dry weight (g), stem dry weight (g), root dry weight (g), and soil pH for land spinach plants.
