Abstract

The research aims to determine the growth and production of black rice accessions (Unsri-P1, Unsri-P2, Unsri-P3 and Unsri-P4), CHR-AG accession and Rindang varietie also to obtain F1 generation seeds from their crosses. The research used a pot, located in the yard at perumahan adinda, Timbangan, Indralaya Utara on February to August 2020. For the purpose of growth and production studies used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consist of 3 blocks each of 4 plants/block. For the purpose of crossing used another plants consist of 4 plants black rice per accession and 8 plants for CHR-AG accession and Rindang varietie. The results showed that the flowering and harvesting age of black rice accessions were longer than CHR-AG accession and Rindang varietie, but the potential for production was higher. The results showed that the growth of several black rice accessions, CHR-AG accessions and Rindang varietie growth using pots are varied. The best growth based on plant height, number of productive tillers and productive tillers was shown by Unsri-P3 black rice accession. The production also varied and Unsri-P3 black rice accession has a higher weight of Harvest Dry Grain and Milled Dry Grain than other crops. However, the highest weight of 100 grains of Milled Dry Grain was achieved by Rindang varietie. This research produces a number of seeds that can be used for further research. Some efforts made to cross black rice paddy include pollination techniques and efforts to ensure the availability of flowers for crosses is done by using the stagger planting method and use of ratun paddy. The percentages of success in crossing several accessions of black rice with CHR-AG accession and Rindang varietie was 9,1% or as many as 88 items out of 960 flowers crossed.
