Abstract

This research was aimed to find out the effect of soybean price toward the demand of imported soybean by tahu tempe industry in Indonesia. The data used in this research were the secondary ones obtained ffom Central Statistics Agency, Department of Agriculture, and others taken ffom reports, publications ffom various institutions as well as other previous researchers studying the same theme i.e. soybean commodity. This technique used to analyze the data was Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The research result showed that the price of local soybean had a positive effect toward the demand of imported soybean with the coefecient of 0,270116. This means that the higher the price of local soybean, the higher the demand of imported soybean by the tahu tempe industry in Indonesia. In this case, it is concluded that local soybean is a substitute for imported soybean.
