Abstract

By utilizing ocean waves as energy, the sea wave power plant can generate sufficient electrical voltage to provide supply to electrical equipment. So far, sea waves are a problem in the generation of a sea wave power plant because it is very dependent on the size of the wind so that it affects the electrical voltage produced. Sea wave power plants must be able to work optimally to produce electric power, so that optimal control is needed in order to stabilize the voltage output. The gyroscope control system in ocean wave power plant is an example to overcome these problems. Sea wave power plant control is designed using a PID controller with five types of controllers. The results showed that the use of a PD controller with a value of KP = 5.2 and KD = 0.6 can produce a voltage value on the power take off (PTO) generator when there are ocean waves that make the gimbals movement unstable.
