Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) determine the average income of corn farming in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency (2) Determine the average total household income of farmers in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, (3) Analyze contribution of corn farming income to farmer household income in Bangun Sari Village. The method used in this research is descriptive exploratory method and survey method (survey method). Descriptive method is used to describe or explain something based on actual circumstances, such as conditions, circumstances, situations, events or activities. Furthermore, the survey method was used to obtain information on selling prices, production quantities, production costs, labor wages, and other sources of income from corn farmers in Bangun Sari Village. This method is done by providing a list of questions (questionnaires) to the respondents and then conducting in-depth interviews with them. The time of data collection was carried out from July 2020 to August 2020. The results showed that the average corn farming income in Bangun Sari Village was Rp. 16,580,213 per farmer with an average land area of 1.54 ha. The average household income of farmers in Bangun Sari Village is Rp. 21,923,034 and if it is divided into twelve months, the result is Rp. 1,826,919 per month. And based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the contribution of corn farming income to the household income of farmers in Bangun Sari Village was 75.63%. Rice farming income contributed 6.70% and non-farm income contributed 17.68% to the total household income of farmers. This shows that corn farming as the main source of income has a higher percentage of contribution than other sources of income to household income.
