Abstract

Pertumbuhan maggot H. illucens akan baik jika pakan yang tersedia dapat memenuhi kebutuhannya. Pertumbuhan berkaitan dengan pertambahan biomassa atau bobot, lebar, dan panjang maggot. Maggot akan mengkonversikan protein dan berbagai macam nutrisi pakan menjadi biomassa tubuhnya. Informasi tentang efisiensi konversi, laju pertumbuhan yang diberikan variasi konsumsi limbah buah, ampas kelapa, dan dedak belum ada informasi. Untuk itu diperlukan penelitian tentang pengaruh dari berbagai macam limbah seperti ampas kelapa, pepaya, nanas dan dedak padi terhadap beberapa aspek biologi yang diuji meliputi, konsumsi pakan (persen), efisiensi konversi (persen), dan laju pertumbuhan maggot (gram). Sehingga pada penelitian ini menggunakan limbah buah sebagai media tumbuh maggot. Tujuan penelitian untuk menentukan konsumsi pakan, efisiensi konversi, dan laju pertumbuhan maggot H. illucens pada masing-masing variasi komposisi limbah buah dan dedak padi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November sampai dengan April, dengan tempat pengambilan limbah buah pepaya, nanas, dan ampas kelapa di pasar Perumnas Palembang. Pemeliharaan hewan uji, mengukur konsumsi pakan, efisiensi konversi, dan pertumbuhan maggot dilaksanakan di daerah Kenten, Kota Palembang. Rancangan Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan dilakukan 5 kali pengulangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa pemberian variasi komposisi pakan yang terdiri dari limbah pepaya, nanas, dedak dan ampas kelapa mempengaruhi efisiensi konversi, konsumsi pakan, dan laju pertumbuhan. Nilai konsumsi pakan yang paling tinggi terdapat pada perlakuan P-2 dengan rata-rata 77,80% dengan kisaran 77 - 78% dan nilai paling rendah terdapat pada perlakuan P-1 dengan rata-rata 62,80% dengan kisaran 61 - 65%. Nilai efisiensi konversi yang paling tinggi terdapat pada perlakuan P-2 dengan rata-rata 0,31% dengan kisaran 0,29 - 0,34% dan nilai paling rendah terdapat pada perlakuan P-1 dengan rata-rata 0,10% dengan kisaran 0,06 - 0,14%. Pertumbuhan maggot yang paling tinggi terdapat pada perlakuan pepaya 50% dan dedak fermentasi 50% dengan rata-rata bobot 0,26 g, panjang 1,88 cm dan nilai paling rendah terdapat pada kontrol dengan rata-rata bobot 0,07 g dan panjang 1,78 cm. Kesimpulannya dari penelitian ini yaitu pemberian limbah pepaya, nanas, ampas kelapa, dan dedak fermentasi berpengaruh terhadap nilai konsumsi pakan, efisiensi konversi, dan pertumbuhan maggot H. Illucens. SUMMARY The growth of H. illucens maggot will be good if the available feed can meet its needs. Growth is related to the increase in biomass or weight, width, and length of the maggot. Maggot will convert protein and various feed nutrients into body biomass. There is no information about conversion efficiency, growth rate given the variation in consumption of fruit waste, coconut pulp, and bran. For this reason, research is needed on the effect of various kinds of waste such as coconut pulp, papaya, pineapple and rice bran on several biological aspects tested, including feed consumption (percent), conversion efficiency (percent), and maggot growth rate (grams). So in this study using fruit waste as a medium for growing maggot. The aim of the study was to determine feed consumption, conversion efficiency, and growth rate of H. illucens maggots for each variation in the composition of fruit waste and rice bran. This research was conducted from November to April, with a place to collect papaya, pineapple, and coconut dregs at the Perumnas Palembang market. Maintenance of test animals, measuring feed consumption, conversion efficiency, and maggot growth was carried out in the Kenten area, Palembang City. The design of this study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and each treatment was repeated 5 times. The results of this study showed that the variation of feed composition consisting of papaya, pineapple, bran and coconut dregs affected the conversion efficiency, feed consumption, and growth rate. The highest value of feed consumption was in treatment P-2 with an average of 77.80% with a range of 77 - 78% and the lowest value was found in treatment P-1 with an average of 62.80% with a range of 61 - 65% . The highest conversion efficiency value was found in treatment P-2 with an average of 0.31% with a range of 0.29 - 0.34% and the lowest value was found in treatment P-1 with an average of 0.10% with a range of 0.06 - 0.14%. The highest maggot growth was found in the 50% papaya treatment and 50% fermented bran with an average weight of 0.26 g, length of 1.88 cm and the lowest value was found in the control with an average weight of 0.07 g and a length of 1 ,78 cm. The conclusion from this research is that the administration of papaya, pineapple, coconut pulp, and fermented bran waste affects the value of feed consumption, conversion efficiency, and growth of H. Illucens maggots.
