Abstract

Sanitation is very important to protect human health during the COVID-19 outbreak, especially in public places such as Bus Stations. The purpose of this study was to analyze environmental sanitation facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Tanjung Pandan Station. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive design. Information was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, photovoice, and questionnaires. The informants in this study were 17 people consisting of station heads, cleaners, sanitarian officers, traders, and visitors. Analysis of the data used is content analysis. Validity testing is used through triangulation of source, methods, and data. The results show that this Station has made efforts to provide environmental sanitation facilities in the Station and has attempted to add sanitation facilities during the pandemic as prevention of COVID-19, such as clean water facilities, hand washing facilities, social distancing facilities, and disinfection. This result is not optimal and not according to standards, which one of the standards is the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 382 of 2020. In addition, during the pandemic the Station does not make special policies for traders and Station visitors regarding the prevention of COVID-19 in the Station. The research advises that the Station makes special policies regarding the prevention of COVID-19, and is more optimal in implementing sanitation facilities, especially those directly related to the prevention of COVID-19.
