Abstract

This research have purposes to (1) describe the results of analysis the student and teachers need on VIII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya through the learning media to understand the news text using power point based on ispring suite, (2) to describe the design of power point media based on ispring suite in learning to understand the news text for VIII grade student in SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya, and (3) to describe the result of proficient validation through this power point media based on ispring suite in learning to understand the news text for VIII grade student in SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya. The research method that used in this work are the step of research and development from Alessi and Trollip (2001). The technique of data collection in this research are interview, questionnaire, and experts validation sheet. The validations are done by three experts who gave the value from media aspect, matter aspect, and language aspect. Based on the results of validation, given that the media aspect gained total score 58 with 90,62% percentage, then the matter aspect gained total score 26 with 81,25% percentage, and the language aspect gained total score 14 with 87,5% percentage. From the validation data above, that given the conclusion of power point media based on ispring suite in learning to understand the news text for VIII grade student in SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya can be categorized as very worth it.
